Inspired by nature, storytelling, and various forms of media and art, Mitchell’s music spans a wide variety emotions and energies all while staying true to his compositional voice. Live/Studio Musician
Mitchell has a strong passion for performing live and recording in a wide variety of musical contexts. His experiences as a freelance percussionist include playing with professional orchestras, percussion ensembles, solo percussion, drum set in a variety of contexts, experimental electroacoustic looping, contemporary music ensembles, Brazilian samba baterias, Afro-Cuban folkloric ensembles, and steel pan ensembles. As someone with a passion for education, Mitchell has given engaging and unique masterclasses, clinics, and recitals at universities and high schools around the country. Mitchell brings an energy that creates a welcoming atmosphere for your students to learn, ask questions, and even participate. Masterclasses offer your students the opportunity to get immediate feedback from Mitchell.
